Today, fourth class attended ‘Bubblz the Mathematical Entertainer’ from Bubbly Maths. The show was on in Mary Immaculate College and was funded by SFI (Science Foundation Ireland) and DES (Department of Education). The topics covered were shape, space, problem-solving and mathematical thinking. This was a STEM event. Activities involved giant balloon shapes and soap bubbles. The boys and girls had a fantastic day!
Maths Week 2019
Maths Week 2019 has begun! First Class celebrated the event today by playing fun, active games!
Cumann na mBunscol Girls’ football
Congratulations to the girls football team who reached the girls 9-a side Cumann na mBunscol final in the Gaelic Grounds on Wednesday the 23rd of October. They won their blitz on Tuesday in Doon beating Bilboa, Tineteriffe and Caherline. All of the girls did brilliantly and we wish them all the best in the final!

Science Intel Competition October 2019
Children in Fourth Class are preparing hard for the Science Intel Competition which will take place shortly. An exhibition of the projects will be set up in the school for the Intel judges. Keep up the good work boys and girls!
STEM & Maths Games in First Class October 2019
Children in First Class had an opportunity to play Maths and STEM games during Maths class. They are preparing for Maths Week which is happening next week!
Celebrating EU Coding Week October 2019
Children in First Class celebrated EU Coding Week by taking part in a lesson of Scratch Junior. The children really enjoyed the celebrations and is looking forward to their next lesson!

Congratulations from all at Scoil Mhuire Murroe to the boys’ Gaelic football team who qualified for the Cumann na mBunscol 9-a side final. This will take place in the Gaelic Grounds on Wednesday 23rd of October.

The boys won all their matches in the qualifying blitz which was held at Boher GAA grounds. They showed great heart, determination and no little skill in defeating Bilboa, Oola, Caherconlish and Nicker. They will meet Oola again in the final on the 23rd. Best of luck in the final boys!
