Second and Fifth Class celebrated ‘World Book Day’ with some paired reading. The boys and girls really enjoyed the occasion.
Today the children in sixth class travelled to Scoil Dean Cussen, in Bruff, to compete in the Ficheall tournament. It was an early start for the children, but they all enjoyed playing chess (as well as a few sweet treats😊). Congratulations to all the children who took part – we are all so proud of you!
Fifth Class celebrated World Book Day completing different activities including a Zoom Session of different authors from Ireland discussing and reading their books. We also completed art based on our favourite books. Children participated in a Mega Quiz based on World Book Day. Lastly, children continued with their film study of the novel ‘Wonder’ after finishing the reading of the book this week.
Fifth class competed great work in February.
Today, Fifth Class started our March Challenge Run Around Ireland.
Today, we planted the different seeds including potatoes, strawberries, spinach, carrots, turnip, chives and lettuce. Children enjoyed the session.
The sixth class children are taking part in the Incredible Edibles school initiative, aimed at promoting life-long understanding and appreciation of the importance of healthy eating. Here we see some of the children planting strawberry plants.
The children enjoyed a pancake treat in class on Tuesday.
