SFI Discover Science and Maths Award 2019/2020
Well done to all the boys and girls and their teachers who worked very hard last year to ensure our school received the ‘Badge of Excellence for STEM Awareness in the SFI Discover Science and Maths Awards’. We received our award yesterday. This Friday, three classes will have an opportunity to view the first interactive digital SFI Discover Science and Maths Awards Ceremony.

All classes enjoyed the virtual event ‘How to become a Superhero Scientist’ today. The boys and girls enjoyed the event.
Science Week 2020: Dancing Raisins Experiment
Dancing Raisins: Junior Infants had a great time experimenting with raisins and water to see if they could make the raisins dance. They discovered that the raisins would dance when sparking water was used.
Science Week 2020: Virtual Science Events
Today, classes attended a Science virtual event to celebrate Science Week. Children from Junior Infants to Second Class attended ‘The Amazing Cosmos Journey’ and children from Third Class to Sixth Class attended ‘The Sophia Project’. These events were very interesting and were enjoyed by the children.
Halloween Dress-Up!
The boys and girls in Senior Infants and First Class dressed up in some fantastic costumes! Well done to the boys and girls!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Junior Infants have been listening to the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar and asking our caterpillar lots of questions. They also created their very own hungry caterpillar.

This week, we are celebrating Science Week. Throughout the week, each class will participate in at least three virtual events. These events have been organised by ‘Science Ireland’ and the ‘University of Limerick’.
