Kaboom! Tables Game
This is a great way for your child to get to know their tables or to revise them. Write the tables on sticks. Take it in turns to pick out a stick and try to correctly answer the table. If you are correct, keep the stick. If not, you place it back in box. If you receive a stick with ‘Kaboom’ on it put all the sticks you have collected back in the box and begin again!
Do not underestimate the power of play!
Children of all ages can benefit immensely from play. So step back, allow your child to play. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop the skills children will continue to use in life. Create Your Own Happy Jar
Decorate your jar how your child choose (use stickers, paint, paper etc.). Next, take some small pieces of paper and think of the things that have happened to you that made you happy (small or big). Add to the jar every day with the simple things that make you happy. This is an activity that can be done as a whole family to help you through Covid-19.
Virtual Library Storytime
Irish public libraries, publishers and writers have partnered up for virtual library storytimes across the country.
Spring into Storytime is the name of libraries’ annual celebration of families reading together – and this year, they’re planning to highlight the work of Irish authors by inviting everyone to #LoveIrishWriting.
Librarians will stream storytime sessions or post them online on their social media channels, and these videos will remain online while library buildings are closed.
