Would you like to Skype a Scientist?
Do you want to chat with a scientist over video chat? You will be matched with a scientist for free! These sessions are q&a conversations, so you can talk with a scientist about what makes YOU curious. We have lots of different scientists to choose from, so don’t be shy! You are invited to write a Poem started by Michael D Higgins
Poetry Day is happening on the 30th April. Students in fifth and sixth class are invited to continue a poem centred around the theme of time with the first line written by Michael D Higgins. The President of Ireland began the poem with: “There will be time without measure.” Submissions will be collected to create a longer poem which will be unveiled online on the day. On top of this, the completed poem will be buried in a time capsule in the garden of Poetry Ireland, located at 11 Parnell Square East in Dublin. All submissions from fifth and sixth class students should only be one line of poetry per child. The deadline for submissions is 11:59pm on Monday, April 27 via the online form: https://www.poetryireland.ie/poetry-day/join-in/poemathon
Out of the Ark Resources
Out of the Ark is a fantastic website to meet your music needs. There are six weeks of songs (so far) to keep you entertained. There are activities to go with each song. There are even dance routines to accompany some of the songs. Here is one example of a song available on the website.
