Team Hope Shoebox Appeal

Well done to Murroe N.S. who collected 74 boxes to be sent to the children in Africa and Eastern Europe. The children who receive the shoeboxes are affected by poverty in different ways. It is great to see big numbers of shoeboxes being filled by the boys and girls. It makes a big difference in the lives of the children who receive them on Christmas morning!

Gold at Munster

Well done to Peter Ashe who won gold at the Cross Country Munster Relay Finals. Peter was part of the Newport AC team who finished in first place and will now go on to the Cross Country Relays All-Ireland Competition. Fantastic achievement and best of luck in the future!

Science Week 2019

Well done to the school’s representative team who will participate in the County Finals Intel Mini Scientist Competition that will take place in December. Students are Jaime Collins, James Hartnett, Luke Rainsford and Cillian Holmes. During assembly, children spoke about the board game they are designing to combat obesity and to promote activity among young people. Our school received a plaque for participating in the competition and this will be put up in the school.

Time For Chess

This year, children from Third Class to Sixth Class will learn to play chess. Today, a small group of children played some friendly games against each other. The children had great fun and enjoyed the games.
