The main role of a Student Council as set out in the Education Act is “to promote the interests of the school and the involvement of students in the affairs of the school, in co-operation with the board, parents and teachers”.  Our very best wishes to the Students’ Council in all their endeavours.

Trócaire collection: Trócaire works to support children and their families who face natural disasters and poverty.  Pupils may wear a jersey on the day of the holidays, April 7th and donate €2 to support Trócaire in their work.

IRFU March 22: Sixth class pupils attended a mixed tag rugby blitz on March 22 hosted by the IRFU in Garryowen RFC.  Our school played in a group with three other Limerick schools and great fun was had by all as they were coached through the games by various IRFU coaches.  Lunches were provided by Aldi.  It was a very enjoyable event with the emphasis on participation and fun.

FAI Soccer March 24: A total number of thirty eight boys and girls from Scoil Mhuire Murroe participated in the FAI Primary 5-a- side competition on Friday March 24th 2017.  The event took place on the all-weather pitches in Sean Coill, Parteen.  It was a little chilly but there was beautiful sunshine throughout and it was dry too.  Children from Fourth, Fifth and Sixth classes participated.  There were three boys’ teams and two girls’ teams.  The children represented the school really well and played fairly and sportingly in each match.  They enjoyed the day very much.
